Here is a 3D volcano I made in what was my Dramatic Play center the week of our dinosaur unit.  I had such a large number of dinosaurs from having 2 boys at home, it was soon apparent that we would need a larger block area that week.  The volcano stretched from floor to ceiling ending with a bright eruption of tissue, crape and construction paper lava
at the top.  I have cropped the children out of the picture but you can see the tops of their heads as they sit at its base.  Part of the eruption was suspended from the ceiling because of its weight.
"Watering Hole"
In this picture, you can see how a couple of students have used construction paper to create a lake for their dinosaurs. (Look at the water fall!! Isn't that soo cute?  Also, they tore up bits of green construction paper because they said their dinosaurs were herbivores (plant eaters).  If you will notice, only those type dinosaurs are at the watering hole!  Yes, if you are wondering the carnivores showed up not long after and a bloodbath and dinosaur battle began. For a brief moment I captured paradise though. :)
