August Family Fun Project

Treasure Box

Our first Family Fun Project of the Year was a great success! Here are the pictures at last! Students with the help of family members decorated a shoe box in true treasure box fashion.  The idea behind our annual August project is “books are a treasure!”  Boxes will be used at home throughout the year to keep student made readers and our sight word readers that our district buys for each student.  By the end of the year each student has a home library they can visit again and again!

As part of our monthly project, students "show and tell" all about it! They work on listening and speaking

skills. They describe at least 2 mediums, helpers give compliments and ask questions. It is a special time of praise and sharing for everyone!

All About Me Art Activity

We just finished our unit called All About Me. Take a look at these adorable self portrait paper dolls that students made while in the art center.
 

 

 

 

I am watching YouTube while writing this post. She is going very fast! I have only stopped the video about 5 times! I am now going to try and post the video!

 

 

 

Ok, so now I am feeling like this really awesome blogger cause I figured this out, but then I remembered how many times I have stopped this video. Now, my laptop is saying that it needs to be plugged in soon or it is going to shut off. So I am franticly typing and running through the hoose without even using spellcheck. Where is that power cord anyway? All so I can save this post that was really about nothing at all. Whoo hoo! I am good! And this only took me 2 hours, but I still feel goo-ood! Maybe tomorrow I can figure out how to add some cute fonts. Should only take me an hour or 3!
